Zachary Chastain, Senior Digital Strategist at FUEL, has been selected for the inaugural group of GSA Business’ Forty Under 40. This list recognizes the success and community involvement of 40 professionals under age 40 who are making their mark on the Upstate from a mix of industry, professional, and community sectors.
Nominations were submitted by individuals, businesses, organizations, and colleagues and the final list of honorees determined by juried selection.
“When I was a teenager, I used to see awards like this and wonder if I could find enough success in my career to be honored. It was an early goal of mine, but it seemed out of reach,” said Chastain. “To me, being a GSA Forty Under 40 honoree is an opportunity to serve as an example for others to always work smart and work hard to achieve your goals, especially when they seem unattainable.”
Chastain’s career accomplishments began at age 15, when he started and grew a successful IT consulting business. After seven years in the IT industry, he worked for a global digital marketing agency based in Boston. In 2016, he was recognized by the head of brand marketing and advertising at Microsoft for an article he wrote about digital marketing and was featured on a list of industry thought leaders, which included the likes of Seth Godin, Ann Hadley, and Jay Baer. He joined FUEL in 2017 as Senior Digital Strategist. Chastain holds ten professional certifications across the IT and digital marketing industries and has written over 800+ answers to questions on Quora about digital marketing with nearly three million views. He is on the advisory board for the Anderson Districts 1 & 2 Career and Technology Center and mentors and speaks to students across the Upstate. Personally, he volunteers time with numerous upstate non-profit organizations.
“Zach has proven himself time and time again as a model employee, and we are thrilled to have him as a young leader on our team,” says Meredith Kinsey, COO of FUEL. “He has certainly helped FUEL grow, and we celebrate this well-deserved recognition as he continues to make his mark in his career and community.”
