FUEL’s Matthew Garvin appointed to the City of Greenville Arts in Public Places Commission

Matthew Garvin, Senior Developer at FUEL, has been appointed as a board member for the City of Greenville Arts in Public Places Commission.

The Arts in Public Places Commission evaluates and recommends the placement of specific pieces of art throughout the city, identifies strategic sites for new public art, establishes partnerships and funding opportunities for public art, and promotes awareness of public art in the community.

“I’m honored to be selected by city council to serve on the arts commission.” said Garvin. “I’m looking forward to working with the board to continue the excellent work in promoting public arts initiatives for our city.”

Board members are individuals who live or work in Greenville and who by career choice, personal interest, or civic participation have demonstrated an interest in creating or supporting art. Garvin will serve for a three-year term.

Garvin’s education and career path both reflect his personal interest in the arts. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Clemson University, Garvin attended the University of Miami to study film and video production. He has a broad background in technology, education, hospitality, and sports marketing and holds certifications in CISSP, PMP, and AWS. His currect position as Senior Developer for FUEL has him collaborating with the creative team to design web solutions that are aesthetically beautiful and an intuitive user experience.
