FUEL announced today that it has selected Furman University’s Bridges to a Brighter Future program as the first quarter recipient of its FUEL for Good 2021 Quarterly Grant program.

Through the grant program, FUEL provides $10,000 of pro bono marketing services to help nonprofits have a positive impact on the community through the development and execution of marketing strategies that support and further their mission. Bridges’ grant application requested FUEL’s expertise to not only promote the program but also develop a strategy that will enable and empower its students to engage with older generations and share their experiences with poverty, racism, discrimination, and other issues to shape a better future for everyone.

“Our team is excited to work with Bridges for a Brighter Future and support their efforts to inspire inter-generational dialogue and social change,” said Meredith Kinsey, SVP and COO of FUEL. “The Bridges program, as well as its students, has a great story to tell, and we look forward to creating a strategy that will enable their voices to be heard throughout the community.”

Bridges to a Brighter Future, a community outreach program at Furman University, is a comprehensive college access and success program for high school and college students in Greenville County whose potential outdistances their circumstances. Bridges transforms the lives of its students by providing educational access and opportunity through a seven-year program that builds self-confidence, resiliency, and leadership in order to break the cycle of poverty through post-secondary education.

“We are so excited FUEL selected Bridges to a Brighter Future for its grant program,” said Carrie Silver, PhD, Bridges to a Brighter Future Director. “We believe in the power of education, and we look forward to FUEL helping us share our message across Greenville.”
