After seven years in its iconic location in the heart of downtown Greenville, FUEL is relocating its headquarters to The Sumerel building at Legacy Square at Verdae. The Greenville-based marketing agency is creating a hybrid workplace, enabling employees to maintain balance and autonomy while preserving its vital culture within a productive, collaborative work environment.
In selecting its new location, FUEL sought to create a space that satisfies the specific needs of the agency and its employees. The agency has surveyed its employees throughout the pandemic to understand the opportunities and challenges the team faced and their preferences going forward. These insights coupled with COVID-driven workplace dynamics led Warren Griffith, founder and CEO of FUEL, and Meredith Kinsey, president and COO of FUEL, to explore new ways of doing good work.
“Like so many companies, we learned during the pandemic that we can provide an optimal balance of efficient, effective, exceptional work and a healthy life with reduced stress and greater flexibility for our team,” Griffith said. “A large office space no longer made the most sense for us or our employees nor was it required to preserve the special culture that makes FUEL a unique place to work. Next up is a new workplace that better fits our post-pandemic work preferences and our ability to deliver for our clients, and we are all very excited about this move.”
Centrally located off of Verdae Boulevard, the new location will be upfitted to fit the agency’s in-person and remote work needs. FUEL has reimagined its workplace with an open floor plan and design features that will provide private work areas and collaborative meeting spaces to inspire creativity and productivity and allow for in-person and remote meetings via video. The space will feature exposed ceilings, ample natural light, modern décor, and state-of-the-art technology.
“Our goal is to give employees a home base of creativity and collaboration while also providing the flexibility to work where they feel most comfortable and productive, enabling FUEL to continue to provide phenomenal work and results to our growing client base,” Kinsey said.
FUEL joins several other companies moving to the growing, vibrant area at Verdae. Located near the I-85 corridor with easy access to Verdae Boulevard and Woodruff Road and just minutes from downtown Greenville, this development is a desirable location.
“We are excited to have FUEL relocate their headquarters to The Sumerel building and look forward to welcoming them later this year,” said Debbie Wallace, president and COO of Verdae Development. “They add to the diverse mix of businesses located in the heart of Verdae, and I believe the space provides the ideal location and amenities to fit FUEL’s current needs and future growth.”
The Sumerel is a 50,000-square-foot building located in Legacy Square at Hollingsworth Park in the Verdae development. FUEL will occupy almost 3,000 square feet on the third floor. The space is expected to be completed by early fall. FUEL’s new office address will be 325 Rocky Slope Road, Suite 303, Greenville, SC, 29607.
